Scarsdale Drinking Water Quality Report 2024
The 2024 Scarsdale Annual Drinking Water Quality Report confirms that the Village’s water supply met all New York State and federal health standards, with no violations recorded. All drinking water was sourced from the New York City Water Supply System, drawing from the protected Catskill and Delaware watersheds. Water delivered to residents undergoes comprehensive treatment including chlorination, ultraviolet disinfection, fluoride addition, pH adjustment, and corrosion control to ensure safety, reliability, and public health.
In 2024, approximately 1.135 billion gallons of water were delivered to serve about 21,649 residents across 5,800 service connections. Routine testing detected only trace levels of regulated contaminants, all well below state limits, including lead and copper, which showed no action level exceedances. Unbilled water accounted for 15.1 percent of total delivery and reflected necessary system operations such as maintenance, flushing, firefighting, and infrastructure upkeep. The report emphasizes ongoing investment in monitoring, infrastructure improvements, and long term protection of water quality.
