What We Do

What We Can Test For

heading bg purple
Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are a large group of 53 or so chemicals found in items used to build and maintain homes. They can get into drinking water through industrial dumping, leaks, spills, or from the use and improper disposal of household products that contain these chemicals. They are known to cause detrimental effects on human health over time.
THMs are trihalomethanes which are chemical compounds that can be formed when water is disinfected with chlorine. THMs occur when chlorine reacts with organic matter in water. Studies show that having high THMs in drinking water may pose a risk in the development of cancer.
These chemicals have been used in a variety of products, including nonstick cookware, firefighting foams, and stain-resistant coatings. They can be difficult to remove from water and have been linked to a range of health problems, including cancer, immune system problems, and developmental issues. Testing for PFAS is essential to ensure that your water is safe and free of these harmful chemicals.
HAA5 testing is a method used to measure the levels of haloacetic acids (HAAs) in water sources. HAAs are a group of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) that are formed when chlorine or other disinfectants react with organic matter in water.
Pesticides are chemicals used to control pests in agricultural and residential settings. Unfortunately, some pesticides can leach into the soil and water sources, leading to contamination of drinking water supplies. Pesticides in drinking water can have negative health effects on humans, including cancer, reproductive problems, and developmental issues.

    Marie Nelson

Our Long Island City building had brown water on and off for months. Olympian pin pointed an issue with iron among other heavy metals. So happy to get to the bottom of things and have real answers. Management is now taking me seriously and making fixes.

    Nancy Caldwell

We have been using Olympian to test water in our hotels for over a decade. They are always do a great job and are there when you need them. Very reliable!

    Cavin Clossi

My management refused to acknowledge excessive brown water all the time. Turned out the pipes were so corroded that my water was loaded (to say the least) with heavy metals. Olympian’s water testing results and willingness to help, finally got my management to take serious action.

    Joel Fulton

Whenever we install major plumbing like mains and permitted work, we always have them collect a sample to have analyzed for bacteria and potability when required.
