Nassau County Drinking Water Quality Report 2024

The Water Authority of Western Nassau County’s 2024 Annual Water Quality Report
confirms that drinking water delivered throughout the service area met all federal, state, and
local health standards in 2024, with no violations, no well closures, and no supply restrictions.
More than 43,000 tests were conducted for over 189 contaminants, demonstrating continued
regulatory compliance and system reliability.

The report highlights significant capital improvement projects focused on emerging
contaminants such as PFAS and 1,4-dioxane, including new and upgraded treatment facilities,
water main replacements, and storage tank rehabilitation. These investments are designed to
strengthen infrastructure, improve water quality and pressure, and protect public health well
into the future.
