White Plains drinking water supply and quality report 2024

The 2024 Drinking Water Quality Report or White Plains reflects comprehensive monitoring conducted from January 1 through December 31, 2024. Throughout the year, the City of White Plains Department of Public Works maintained full compliance with all New York State and federal drinking water regulations, with no violations of maximum contaminant levels or other water quality standards. More than 170 contaminants were tested across the system, with 18 detected at trace levels well below regulatory limits. Water quality was monitored at multiple stages, including the source water from the Kensico Reservoir, treatment facilities, and throughout the distribution system. Routine system maintenance such as hydrant flushing and water main valve programs was carried out to preserve water clarity, safety, and reliability. While these activities, along with nearby construction, may occasionally cause temporary discoloration, they do not affect the safety of the water supply.
